The Chanel Beauty Rouge Allure Velvet Nuit Blanche Experience
The chic black door, at one of Edinburgh’a most exclusive addresses, is relatively unassuming to the eye. There’s no signal of the luxury beauty paradise that lies behind its emblematic, monochrome exterior.
Chanel – one of the most coveted fashion houses in the world– has makeup and skincare that’s just as sought after as its clothing and accessories. One of their newest releases is the Rouge Allure Velvet Nuit Blanche lipsticks. 8 shades, with Margot Robbie as their poster girl.
The limited-edition collection of shades are named as times, from midnight (00:00) to 7am (07:00). The colours signify the progression of a night out – from the anticipation and intention of having a good time with 00:00’s sienna red, to the gentle arrival of morning with 07:00’s delicate fresh pink.
The ultra moisturising and comfortable to wear shades have a beautifully creamy feel on the lips. They’re matte, but have a luminous, healthy lip finish from the slightest of pearly particles within the formula. Their blend of shea butter and jojoba oil ensures the lips never feel dry or look flakey. You are getting intense pigmentation and wear time, with a still lightweight and naturally comfortable formula.
The new and unique pop-up experience in Edinburgh, takes guests behind the scenes of the world of Chanel and a night out with Margot Robbie. Edinburgh was selected as the destination due to Gabrielle Chanel’s deep love for Scotland. Behind its chic black door lies everything from a mock, exclusive Chanel nightclub that’s themed and adorned with the lipsticks, to the first Chanel School of Makeup out with London – to put your makeup right the morning after the night before.No.8 Charlotte Square is an experience like no other for fans of the iconic interlocking C’s.
The first stop for visitors is the Rouge Allure Velvet cinema, where they are able to watch the Margot Robbie campaign film in the cosy art deco space, before hitting the button on a giant digital clock to tell them what time of night represents them.
The journey then moves into the Backstage Beauty area, where guests can try on the entire collection of shades to find their favourite one. Makeup artists are on hand to help visitors find out how Margot Robbie’s whole makeup look was created; from skin prep to that finishing slick of Rouge Allure Velvet Nuit Blanche. It’s also home to full masterclasses that are bookable online. A real treat for residents and visitors of Edinburgh, as it’s the brand’s first school outside London.
Next, it’s time to experience the Velvet Club – a lipstick-themed nightclub complete with DJ booth and a photo experience to capture your time there. The menu? Lipstick shades, of course.
To complete the experience, visitors move into the boutique. A full-size Chanel Beauty retail store where they can purchase the Rouge Allure Velvet Nuit Blanche collection and the makeup used to create Margot Robbie’s campaign film look. Finish with a spritz of the brand’s iconic fragrances to leave you with a scent of luxury long after you leave those big black doors.
